Tips for creating an endless pattern

(also called repeat or scatter printing)

Endless patterns, also known as repeat or scatter prints, are repeating designs. They are ideal for custom wallpaper, vinyl flooring, or gift wrap, and they reduce waste in our beeswax wrap production. Here is a simple example using our “LOGO” lettering to show how you can create an endless pattern.

1st step:

Selection of any motif.

2nd step:

Now you divide the selected motif into quarters by deliberately cutting through the middle of the logo. In step 4 or 5, you will see why this is important.

3rd step:

Then swap each quarter with the diagonally opposite one.

4th step:

This way the quarters are arranged correctly.

5th step:

Then you push the quarters back together. The cut edge from the second step is now the outer edge of the new tile. Perfect! That was the most important part.

6th step:

You can add small details or extra patterns to make the overall design more interesting. As long as you stay within the tile, there are no other rules to follow. Done! Do not add any more cut edges or similar elements.

Supplementary explanation:

We will now repeat this tile over and over, moving it up, down, left, and right until the cotton roll is full. The transitions between tiles are therefore very important and need to line up well!
